Since Cecile has hinted how much she wants to read it, I thought I would let it drop.
The hot scene from my first novel- TEMPTING FATE.
It’s a little bit long, but it only works if you read it all.
Remember, this is from my first book so it’s probably a bit rough in places.
Oh, and in case you forgot, here is a pic of Darach, the hero.

Alex lay on her side, staring at the door as he came in.
Darach raised up the pack. “Camden brought us food. Are ye hungry?”
“Starved.” Alex rose up and sat cross legged on the bed. Her hair was a chaos of waves that framed her smiling face. She didn’t seem angry with him at all and he saw no wariness in her gaze.
He opened the cloth and spread the food out on it. There were hunks of cheese, two large pieces of bread, breast meat, a skin of ale and two sweet pastries. He sat on the edge of the bed, the plaid still tied around his waist and began eating. Alex joined him, without saying a word.
He felt like he owed her an apology, but he had no idea how to go about doing so. She seemed at ease, eating and drinking with him, while she sat on the bed. More at ease than she ever seemed to be while eating in the hall. But the silence seemed to stretch on.
“Mother thought ye should return with Camden, but I told him that we would return on the morrow.”
“Why did she think that?” she asked before taking a drink of their ale and looking at him.
“’Tis not right ye being here alone with me. It could tarnish your name.”
She gave him a full blown smile that hit him square in the gut. “I don’t care. I’m where I want to be.” Read More…

On another front, I was cleaning my office, which was badly needed, and I found a notebook. Particularly, a character notebook. Years ago, before I started writing seriously, I used to participate in role-playing. In short, I created characters and played them in RPG chat rooms. It was a great way to release my creativity. I had totally forgot I had this notebook– it was filled with pages and pages of characters I had created at one time or another. Some with entire backgrounds and histories. Talk about make me itch to write!

I finally did it. I finished judging 17 entries for our chapter contest. Go me! I was really amazed at how good several were. I even handed out a couple of perfect scores. And I don’t hand out perfect scores all willy-nilly. They were really good. Good enough I wish I could read the rest of the story. One I didn’t even realize I had come to the end of 25 pages. Boy was I mad! hehe There are some really talented writers out there that haven’t been pubbed yet.
belligerent in my life. I’m normally a calm and laid back person and I’m sad to say that I hung up on this guy and flung my phone across the living room. SOOO not like me. He almost ruined the whole project. 1 person almost blew months of work out of the water. Until we told him contributing money was voluntary. Grrrrrssss. Of course, he didn’t contribute.
